Ks112 vs kw181

As far as the quality of the sound, one KW181 beats 2 ksubs, but it is easier to transport 2 ksubs and the room sound is more even. Based on the specs, it would take 4 KS112 subs to equal the volume of a single KW181. I currently have QSC K2.10s and K8s. I also have a pair of KW181 subs. I was thinking of picking up a pair of KS112 subs since the KW181s are just too big sometimes. My other option is to pick up the RCF JMix8/J8 combo. I am can't decide because I can use the KS112s with my current speakers, but the RCF units look very promising. The new KS118, which succeeds the popular KW181 subwoofer, is covered by the company’s global 6-year warranty with product registration. I compared the KW181 with one of my RCF 4PRO8001AS subs. The input sensitivity of these two seemed pretty much the same. With the gain knob on each wide open, the KW181 in "normal" mode and the RCF crossover set to 100 Hz, the subs had very similar ouput levels and hit the limiters at the same time. I get steered towards the Cardioid subs and as I'm sure they're fantastic they are moving into a bigger box thus the portable issue is a concern. again, is the KS112 a better sub across the board verses the Ksubs? do you think my desired system above would out perform the previous K boxes with the Ksubs? thanks!

The KS118 is every bit as good as the KW181 that preceded it and will have way more grunt down low for kick reinforcement and maybe a bit of

The KW181 low-pass filter is fixed at 100 Hz, so you should use that setting on the K.2 loudspeakers when you use them with the KW181. The KS212C can be set to 80 or 100 Hz, and the cardioid pattern control works more precisely over the narrower below-80 Hz range. The KS112 does go lower in freq response than the KW181 on paper. I had the KW181 for 2 years and transporting it was just too difficult, even though it is one of the lightest 18" subs around. I thought I would try to pair the KS112 with my K12.2's and what a match. I purchased a second one that is sure to cover any size wedding.
